In 2006, Brask House Concerts moved to the Mission Coffee Roasting Co.’s venue at 151 Washington Blvd. in Fremont. We have done the vast majority of shows there, both charity and music events. There is seating for around 100, a stage, stage lighting, a sound system, and off to the side, a baby grand piano. The setting is a classic coffee house, with local art on the walls, changed monthly, artisan coffees and teas to try along with tasty snacks and the music. Quite an upgrade from where we started in our home.
Mission Coffee is owned by the well-known caterer Gael Stewart and provides a wide menu for concert-goers. The staff understands the need for quiet during the shows, as does the audience. We are there to hear the music, after all!
If you want a place to go that attracts musicians like the man who wrote “Unchain my Heart” and sold it to Ray Charles, or a woman who performed on the David Letterman show (two, actually), or were part of the Peter, Paul, and Mary show recently on PBS… Or perhaps the John Lee Hooker Band leader is more to your taste… or singer/songwriters who have written songs used in movies, TV shows and specials. Our performers have opened for Joan Baez, apepared on the Prairie Home Companion, at Yoshi’s, Fregith & Salvage, Starry Plough, and more.
All concerts 7-9 pm unless otherwise noted. $15 cover at the door unless otherwise noted.
